YAY! Recycling is Back in the North!!
Recycling Returns in Goulais Area
The residents of the townships that make up the Local Services Board of Goulais and District voted to take on recycling and pay for it through their taxes and it starts today, Monday May 9, 2016
Previously recycling was paid for through the efforts of Sault North Waste Management Council for a period of six years. Funding to continue it was no longer available, and recycling in Sault North ceased at the end of May 2015.
Now that the cost is supported by the tax base, recycling is back on and the Contractor (GT Waste System) is starting today, picking up cardboard in Areas 1, 2, and 3 this week. As before, the material being picked up will alternate weekly. This week is cardboard, next week will be aluminum, tin cans, and # 1 and #2 plastics.
Congratulations and heartfelt thanks from Sault North Waste Management Council to the residents of Goulais.
